St. Albans Bar: Lloyds Waterend Barn
Lloyds Waterned Barn is one of the largest bars in St. Albans and is housed in a centuries old barn that was purpose converted by Wetherspoons just a couple of years ago.
The bar is vast, with over 50 choices of bottled beer and lager from around the world available along with a decent wine list and every spirit imaginable. Lloyds main bar area has two fireplaces, a dj booth, dancefloor, projector and screens (although they don’t show football) and seating for several hundred customers. A more cozy area with sofas and leather chairs can be found in the window enclosed front of the main bar area. There is another seating area, immediately inside the entrance of the venue, with it’s own fireplace. Lloyds also contains a restaurant seating area that’s open during meal times although food is lackluster chain pub fare.
A walled and heated patio area outside is usually taken over by smokers rather than sun-worshippers as Lloyds is 100% non-smoking inside.
The conversion of the barn is really stunning and Waterend Barn is well worth a visit if only to have a look around. After 9pm on Thursday-Saturday, many of the tables and chairs are removed and DJ’s pump music to an all ages crowd until 3am.

wats the age for new years eve in lloyds?
and do you need a ticket?
I would NOT recommend anybody to go to this pub. I went there for a dinner with my colleagues. We ordered 3 rib eye stakes. We were told that we could not have tab open so we had to pay at the counter. After half and hour manager/ supervisor came to us and said that they had only 2 rib eyes available. We changed our order and ordered something else which was actually much cheaper than rib eye. No refunds were offered for the difference. When they eventually brought the meals it was already cold and overcooked. There was only one rib eye out of 2 premised at the second time. We asked for the clarifications . Same manager told us angrily : “SO WHAT WE MADE A MISTAKE!”. This was not followed by an apology or anything of that sort. This pub overcharges its customers, has very rude staff and awful food.
