Surely this branch of Zizzi’s must be the busiest in the country?!? And though I’ve had many pleasant meals there, the last couple I had were just miserably over-crowded and rushed, with mediocre food. (That said, I haven’t been since the refurb.) Now when we need a pizza fix we more often than not go to Kamillo’s, on London Road. Their pizzas are fantastic! The pasta and other meat dishes are good too, and the service is simply fantastic. They’re amazingly welcoming and make a huge fuss over our small children (though there aren’t actually any baby changing facilities). It’s not remotely posh, and I have to say some things aren’t as good as others (I asked for a decaff espresso the other night and I swear I got a tablespoon of Cafe Hag in an espresso cup… serves me right, I suppose). But the pizzas really are truly superb. Especially the Kamillos.
Im still annoyed that they painted over the historic street sign!!!!!!
