St. Albans Arts will today (Sunday 20 Jan. 2008) be hosting BBC 2’s Flog It!, presented by Paul Martin, from 9.30 to 4pm in the newly reopened Town Hall. Members of the public (that’s you) are invited to bring along items for a free valuation by the programme’s team of experts.

The Assembly Room and Mayor’s Parlour, which have undergone extensive restoration over the past few months, will also be open to the public during the day. The Town Hall will also be open to visitors next weekend (26/27 January) as part of St. Albans Residents First Weekend (pdf of events) and, on Sunday afternoon, there is  a rare opportunity to see the cells beneath the courtroom.

Why oh why does paul not show the article that has just been sold, to us again, instead of talking all the time to other people. If one has just walked in, or has a bad memory like me, it is agrevating to watch at least 3 minutes of talking about a wonderful price they had just got for an unknown object. I think I am right in saying that all or most of all the other antique programs show the object sold that they are talking about. Please do that Paul

Why oh why does Paul only show us the artical once, before it is sold, never after. If we walk in at that point we have to listen to 5 minutes of animated chatter, not knowing what it is he is talking about. Let the camera focus on the article, not strangers faces.
