The Baby Shop in St. Albans

Submitted by Robin Hamman on January 28, 2008 – 12:599 Comments

The Baby Shop, recently opened in Christopher Place (across from French Connection, Hobbs and B&O) offers a wide range of baby products from bottles and teats to baby cots and pushchairs. Brands include Phil & Teds, Bugaboo and more.

Whilst the shop is new, the owner has been trading online for sometime and saw this as the natural extension of his business. With all the babies in St. Albans he may very well have got that right – best of luck to him.

Most excellent shop! Eddie is very knowledgable and does not plug his own stuff. He give’s unbiased advice on what is really needed and what not to (new) parents.
We reckon that he has hit the right combination, Much better than momma’s and poppa’s and other chain stores.
Good luck and thanks for the help.

having heard so many positive comments about the shop we were keen to use it. unfortunately we were very disappointed when we had to return a bag we bought there. the zip was faulty and we were told to contact the manufacturer pink lining. they didn’t even offer to call them for us.
spoke to pink lining who were ever so apologetic, who then got back onto the Baby Shop to remind them that it’s 6 months for a faulty product. we won’t be using them again.

    Hi Nick,
We’ve had to take two things back to the Baby Shop and had a totally different experience – on one ocassion he just grabbed us a new one, no questions asked, and the other time he took apart a demonstration item (buggie board thing so toddler can stand on back of push chair) to get us a replacement part. That said, different people, day and circumstances often lead to different customer experiences.
    Robin.

  • Eddie says:

We advised customer (of the Pink Lining bag) at the time that we had no replacement in stock and advised we would call them on the Monday (This was Saturday), we also gave the PL number to the customer who called them there and then and left a voicemail.
On the Monday we contacted PL who had also already been contacted by the customer and PL advised that we could replace under warranty.
Everything was handled by us and our staff in a courteous and timely fashion.
