St. Albans to London St. Pancras – 22 Minutes by Train
St. Albans is located on the line that, from the north, runs from Bedford, through Luton and Luton Airport Parkway and Harpenden before reaching St. Albans.
Heading south from St. Albans, slow trains stop at Radlett, Elstree, West Hampstead and elsewhere before reaching London.
Fast trains go straight through from St. Albans to London St. Pancras (Kings Cross is at the same interchange) in about 22 minutes. The station, which includes the statue at left, has recently been refurbished. It’s lovely but, as I said when it first opened, does add several minutes to the walk from train to tube.
From St. Pancras, trains carry on through London, where they make several stops, then either to Gatwick Airport or Brighton depending on the service. Some also end at Wimbledon.
See the First Capital Connect website for details of train times, destinations and tickets.
