Free Wifi in St. Albans – Updated Map

Submitted by Robin Hamman on June 24, 2008 – 15:435 Comments

I’ve updated the Free Wifi in St. Albans map to include The Snug Bar, historically known as the Fleur de Lys, which is across from the Clock Tower in Central St. Albans. I haven’t tested it myself but it’s clearly advertised. let me know if you’ve used it and can confirm it to be working (and completely free!).

Seen that the Slug & Lettuce also has free wi-fi… though not used it yet so can’t comment on whether it’s any good or not.

    Hi Todd,
I’ve updated the map to include the Slug and Lettuce, although I’ve listed it as unconfirmed. I’ve also added the Portland Arms to the confirmed wifi list. Alex spotted it first and Anna confirmed it today.
Many thanks everyone. Do let me know if you find any more free wifi about. :-)
    Robin.

We have free wifi access to guests at The Black Lion Inn… If you are a hotel resident or a guest in the bar or restaurant you are welcome to ask for the key.

Just to let you know, the snug bar wifi access is free and works very well, slug and lettuce wifi is currently broken (check before you buy your drink), and the signal in wetherspoons is so weak (at least in the back half of the pub) that you’re unlikely to be able to connect.

My new site is collating a list of cafes/pubs/restaurants that offer free internet access in St. Albans. Check it out at http://stalbanslife.co.uk/free-wifi. Maybe we could create a definitive list/map for everyone to enjoy?
