trendy bars, nightclubs and fashion shops reviewed

There are some places in St. Albans that I’m just never going to get around to visiting [read: am slightly too old and married to really enjoy]. That’s why I enjoyed finding Stephanie’s reviews of trendy bars and clubs in St. Albans on qype, a user generated review site. So far, she’s posted reviews of:

Adelaide Nightclub: "If the bars are closing and you want to continue your night but
don’t fancy batchwood then go to Adelaide, you will have a good night,
but you didn’t hear it from me ;-)
"

Mokoko: "Cocktails galore and a fancy venue so can get nice and dressed up without the worry of being sat next to a burberry chav."

O’Neils: "…And ladies, they have hair straightners in the toilets. Yes you did hear me correctly."

The Peahen: "… it has managed to avoid the rowdy crowd stage and has maintained is reputation as a nice place to go to have a drink."

Lloyds: "For a long while is was a breath of fresh air for people bored of
Batchwood and over 15 so can’t go to the Vintry (before the Vintry
makeover mind). It was a great place to go.
Now it is a bit like marmite. The music flips from cheesy ant and dec, to dancey Destinys Child…"

She’s also got round quite a few of the women’s fashion shops in St. Albans including 4 Feet, Earleys, The Dressing Room, Rocket, Smooth Criminal and Silver Rivet – half of which I’ve never even noticed before.
