One for the local footballers wives this… We went for a visit last year during Open Day and it felt like walking into a boutique hotel – bathroom mirrors that, at the flick of a switch turn into a telly, marble in abundance, furniture straight out of Elle Decoration – all top notch although a bit too much bling for me. The house is thought to have been Dicken’s inspiration for his Bleak House. Once owned by the Council, part of the gardens were sold off to make way for some small cottages to be built with the Council retaining some of the land for small playing fields used by children at the weekend.
