St. Albans Community Noticeboard

Submitted by Robin Hamman on June 30, 2009 – 14:2211 Comments

The St. Albans Community Noticeboard is a place where you can publicise local events, groups and other community information you think might be of interest to the 6000 monthly readers of St. Albans Blog. Although I reserve the right to remove any listing here for any reason, you’re most welcome to use the noticeboard to list:

  • special heritage, art or cultural events
  • school or church fayres
  • open days (gardens, parks, buildings, etc)
  • literary or historical walks
  • new children/toddler/baby groups or activities
  • sponsored walks, runs or rides (the actual event, not your attempt to raise pledges!)
  • coronation parties (it could happen)
  • themed villiage events

There are probably many more different types of events and groups you might want to tell readers here about, and are welcome to use the noticeboard to do so, but please no blatantly commercial posts – buy an ad somewhere if you’re trying to make money, for profit.

Use the comments below to list your event. I’ll check here frequently and will endeavour to pull out the best notices for use on the blog. Otherwise, people will probably still find your notice as it will appear in the recent comment stream on the front of the blog.

Hello, My family is from England all on my Dad’s side and I now live in the USA. I hope to one day more back to England when I retire but my wife has family in the USA. I tell my wife how good people are in England from my child hood times in the UK and allthe great towns to visit. But… I just bought a collecting old sword on Ebay for a very large amount of money to find out it is only a 100 pound fake sword made to look real and old to steal money from collectors around the world. I can’t get any response from the seller who is selling many fakes to other people around the world and giving your town a bad name. All I know is his name is G. Burge and sends packages out from Mail Boxes CT in St Albans under the name of History Relics Ltd. If you can give my any information on this person please email me and also get the word out on his reflection of your town to the world. alanrhodes1@mac.com
