information and independent reviews about living, shopping, eating and drinking in St. Albans. It's authored primarily by a man in his 30's who occasionally begs for posts from other local bloggers.
Have used the same service for removal of top soil - same deal could take it while they came to quote and the price was good so I did not look anywhere else. Would also recommend them!

Hello Robin
Would have liked to have come to the tweetup. Not sure there is a twitter list for St Albans tweeps so have just started one: http://twitter.com/karlwilding/st-albans-tweeps

I live in St Albans, am a trustee of the Centre for Voluntary Services, and I do blog (www.ncvo-vol.org.uk/karlwilding), but about work stuff, not living in SA. Having said, happy to add the odd bit of content if you want :-)

Cheers

Yes I've been there too. Nice little town with a great pub and colourful locals. The surrounding Hawksbury River area is one of my favorite parts of OZ.

It looks like the renovation to 'The Glasshouse' on Victoria Street is nearly complete. Signs in the window indicate that they are recruiting staff and it appears that the revived establishment will be called 'The Victorian', i like the sound of it. Does anyone have any news on this place? When is it due to open and what sort of vibe they're going for?

But look at the repair! It will last about 5 minutes! All they have done is push some poor quality tarmac into the hole, it will crumble out so quickly and the same pothole will return and get worse!

Hi the service from orpington to herne hill, changing at herne hill to tooting and return is abysmal. A varied service of no trains, late trains, cancellations and to make up time missing half the stations on route. First Capital connect changed the timetable and the only train that ran from Herne Hill to Tooting in the morning was 7.35 which was tight for the interchange. Now they have brought it forward to 7.31 now I cannot get the train at all. The management need removing forthwith. Give the management to Southern Trains that run a much better service.
